In the beginning, you make lots of travel mistakes.
The development of travel awareness is influenced by a variety of tiny errors, bad choices, cultural illiteracy, and missed buses. Then, one day, you begin traversing airports with ease and blending into various cultures with the ease of a fish in water.
In order to help you reach your maximum potential as a travel ninja, I put up this lengthy collection of my best travel advice, which covers everything under the sun. I want to expedite things and make sure you don’t make the same mistakes I did (and I often make a lot of them).
I’ve learned these suggestions throughout the past twelve years.
With the help of this travel advice, you’ll be able to reduce expenses, take advantage of more local experiences, meet people, get better sleep, and travel more effectively overall.
Here are the top 15 advices in the globe, without further ado:
1. Consistently pack towels.

Both the key to successful intergalactic hitchhiking and common sense call for it. You never know when you’ll need it—whether it’s at the beach, on a picnic, or just to dry off. You never know, and packing a tiny towel won’t add much weight to your suitcase even though many hostels give towels.
2. Acquire a compact bag or suitcase.

If you choose a small backpack (I prefer something around 35/40 litres), you will be compelled to pack sparingly and refrain from carrying too many goods. You might find yourself saying, “Well, I guess I can take more,” after packing simply yet having a lot of extra space in your suitcase, only to later regret it. This is due to people’s innate drive to fill empty space.
3. Pack lightly.

It’s acceptable to wear the same t-shirt several days in a row. Take only half as much clothing as you think you’ll need. You won’t require as much as you would think. Simply bring a list of your essentials that you have made and have divided in half. Additionally, since you, as I indicated, bought a little backpack, you won’t have much room for extra stuff.
4. However, pack more socks.

You should bring additional clothing because you’ll lose a lot to deterioration, laundry problems, and hiking. Please give me a few more than I need. The best socks are brand-new ones!
5. Bring a backup bank card and credit card.

Tragedies do happen. It is usually a good idea to have a backup card with you in case you are robbed or misplace your card. You don’t want to be stranded somewhere unfamiliar without access to your money. My cards have already been cloned and frozen. I was unable to use it for the remainder of my trip. Since my friend didn’t and had to continually beg for money from me, I was happy to have an extra.
6. Make careful you use credit cards without fees.

Don’t give any of your hard-earned money to banks. Spend cash on your travels while keeping the rest for yourself. Get a debit and credit card with no ATM or foreign transaction fees. Over a long voyage, the small amount of money they take with them every time really adds up!
7. Do not hesitate to use a map.

Worse than being genuinely bewildered is being put in the wrong neighbourhood and seeming like a tourist. Ask for directions, use a map, and don’t be ashamed if you seem like a tourist. After all, you are one! I always have a map with me when I travel. It makes getting to your location easier!
8. Constantly visit the local tourism office.

They are updated on all neighbourhood events. They could point you in the direction of freebies, notable events that are going on while you’re there, or anything in between. There are discounts on everything, including travel and activities. They are there to make your journey more enjoyable for you. It’s amazing how many tourists miss this when they’re there, yet you, a seasoned traveller, are aware of its importance! This is perhaps one of the least-used pieces of travel advice ever. Make use of the tourism office! Save money!
9. Stay away from buying a money belt; they are stupid.
Carrying one essentially communicates, “Look at me, I’m a tourist with money! Scam me!” because robbers are aware that they exist. The more you can act like a local and blend in, the easier it will be to find deals and avoid touts. If you’re concerned about pickpockets, keep a closer eye on your possessions.
10. Additional copies of your passport and other important documents should be made.

Don’t forget to email a copy to yourself as well. Never presume that you’ll need to bring your original papers with you at all times. Additionally, if your passport is stolen, having a copy will be useful for your police report.
11. Even if you aren’t staying at the hostel, ask the staff for suggestions.

Hostel employees deal with budget travellers all day, every day. They are aware of the specific locations of the most affordable eateries and attractions. They frequently live there, so they are well-versed in the area. Request any information you require from them. Even if you aren’t staying there, you are still welcome to drop by and request assistance. They usually provide it.
12. Prevent flying direct.

Booking flights that land at airports close to your final destination and then travelling there by train or bus might occasionally be less expensive. Always shop around for the best deal on your flight, and remember that direct flights aren’t always the most affordable choice.
13. Lunchtime is the best time to see historical sites.

Be sceptical. Since most visitors, big tour buses, and groups are leaving for lunch, less people will be in your way. It’s always a good idea to visit an attraction very early, very late, or during a meal. Even the busiest places will be exclusively yours!
14. Travel with a tiny first aid kit.

Accidents might happen, so be prepared. I apply bandages, antibiotic cream, and ointments to minor cuts and scratches. When you travel, it’s not always possible to get it, and you never know when you’ll need it.
15. Show strangers kindness.

Not everyone bites. Drivers should be greeted by name. establishing relationships with strangers. Keep in mind that they are just like you! They also have aspirations and dreams for leading happy, satisfying lives! Do not rule anything out. It’s possible to make lifelong friends.
